AA4TA will be heard on the air again. Today, the FCC granted the CORE Group the call sign AA4TA as a second Club Call. This call was formerly held by Jack Byrd (SK), one of the founding members of the group. His family wanted the CORE Group to have the call and petitioned the FCC accordingly. The call will be used at Field Day and other CORE Group events, and also on the new UHF repeater. This is a great way for us to honor and remember Jack, who was truly a Ham’s Ham.
The FCC has just announced that it is changing the Part 97 rules to
allow unlimited paid employee participation in government sponsored
drills and exercises, and will also allow limited paid employee
participation in non-government exercises and drills. This is truly a
great breakthrough for EmComm.
