Hi Greg, it was great seeing you at Field Day and I'm glad to see you have an interest in ARES. Our Count EC is Frank Metcalfe, AA4AE. I'll send an email to you both as an introduction and I'm certain Frank will get back with you to help you get Started. Also on the third Thursday of every month we have an ARES net on the K4ORE 146.925 repeater at 7:00 pm. The event is open to all amateurs without regard to ARES membership so you're certainly welcome to participate in that.
Thanks
Eric

What are the steps and time frames for becoming an ARES member? I used the online ARES request form through the ARRL (http://www.arrl.org/ares) around two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. My only concern is that this may be an abandoned link as several of the ARES related links on the ARRL web site appear to be broken.
