The CORE Group's members play together and work radio into the family outings. After all, it makes no difference where you practice setting up portable HF stations, so why not have the family along for the trip? These outings serve the additional training purpose of what the Army calls "building cohesion". Land Between the Lakes is a favorite playground for HF and APRS operations for some of us.
We are constantly playing radio- SSB, PSK, SSTV and other newer modes- working with it is the only way to improve- and ensure that your station is up if or when "The Big One" hits.
